MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

Last review date: July 1, 2021

JAJO Automation Services is an independent Industrial Automation specialist, operating from a factory site based in the heart of the West Midlands. For the size of our organisation there is no formal requirement for us to prepare a Modern Slavery Declaration, however as a responsible and ethical company we embrace the aims and ideals of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

JAJO Automation Services has a zero-tolerance approach to the violation of fundamental human rights and expects people to be treated with dignity and respect. We seek to ensure that neither our supply chain nor any part of our business is complicit in modern slavery in whatever form it may take, whether this is forced labour, child labour, servitude, compulsory labour, human trafficking, or workplace abuse.

JAJO Automation Services does not consider its activities to be at high risk of modern slavery or human trafficking as we operate primarily within the UK, which is not considered a high-risk country. We also ensure that all our work is carried out in accordance with UK Government tax regulations and the UKs health and safety regime within a regulated UK economy, and that any overseas subcontract work is carried out through UK offices.

Along with operating within a low-risk country, other factors that reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking within our business include -

  • Our work does not rely on large numbers of unskilled workers.

  • Our work is generally skilled and requires competent capable skilled operatives generally with trade or professional qualifications.

  • Our work is neither seasonal nor relies on temporary labour at specific times.

  • We have a policy of “knowing our customer” to ensure that we are contracting with appropriate businesses.

  • We have a virtually nil turnover of employees, however on the few occasions where new workers are employed, their IDs are verified and their right to work in the UK is assessed before they start working for us.

  • All our employees are promoted to work less than 48 hours per week average.

  • All our employees have a responsibility to be alert to the risks however small in both our business and the wider supply chain and to report any concerns they may have.

  • Our work on site is always monitored by our own employees allowing a high degree of control and visibility.

  • We source most of our materials through predominately UK based suppliers.

  • We build close, strong, long-standing relationships with our suppliers often dealing with the same few people.

  • We aim to protect whistle blowers.

As both the industry and the country in which we operate are considered low risk in relation to modern slavery or human trafficking, no training has been undertaken with employees, customers, or suppliers other than making this Modern Slavery Statement available to them. We do, however, review the contents of this statement and our procedures on a regular basis to ensure we continue to operate both ethically and with integrity.
